When the cast of Ram Gopal Varma’s film “Department” visited the capital, newbie Nathalia Kaur sat for a casual interaction along with Sanjay Dutt and Rana Daggubati, and couldn’t help loading them with compliments. She said, “I’m here in the middle of two stars – Sanjay sir and Rana sir. I’m nothing as compared to them.” Rana too was all praise for Sanju. “I’ve grown up with posters of sir (Sanjay) around me, and one day, I just got to work with him.
I was so excited and nervous,” Rana told everyone. With so much tareef coming, how could Sanjay keep quiet? Talking about the two juniors, he said, “
Arrey, maine Rana ki acting dekhte hi keh diya tha ki yeh toh bahut bada star banne wala hai. And for Nathalia, I’d said on day one that she’ll be great.”
When Rana was asked why actors love playing the role of a cop, he said, “It’s always an exciting role to play, especially in an action genre.” Sanju added, “
Chor-police ka role toh hamesha sabse favorite hota hai.”
Discussions about action, sequences, and even dialogues carried on. Rana told everyone that when he heard Sanjay say a particular dialogue, he immediately ran to the director, demanding, “
Itni achchi line mujhe bhi chahiye.”
Sanjay, however, was heard saying how learning so many languages has helped Rana’s career. “
Ab yeh do-do film industry mein kaam karta hai, toh double paise kamaata hai na!”After a while, Sanjay suggested, “
Kudi nu vi kuch pooch lo,” hinting towards Nathalia.
Then the Braizilian model-turned-actress got talking, and said in a heavy English accent, “I’m learning Hindi everyday for two hours. And it’s a very beautiful language. I know a bit of accent is still there, but I’m trying to get perfect.”
Sanjay’s sister Priya Dutt came for some time to meet her brother and the rest of the cast, but didn’t stay for long.
